University of Health Sciences Lahore was established in 2002 by the then President of Pakistan Mr. Pervez Musharaf. The University was ranked by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan as the No.2 university for medical and health sciences. It is also responsible for conducting the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (also known as MDCAT).No private university or degree awarding institute (DAI) within Punjab is allowed to provide the undergraduate degrees in medicine (MBBS) and dentistry (BDS) without affiliation to the University of Health Sciences, Lahore.
The University of Health Sciences Lahore offers three programs for the field of nursing each being Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Post RN BSN and Masters of Science in Nursing
Undergraduate Programs
Bachelors of Science in Nursing
This program is a four year degree, it aims to equip students with capabilities to become a professional nurse. After these four years students will be able to give their PNC license exam and become a registered nurse.
Eligibility Criteria of BsN
All candidates who meet the following requirements as laid out by the University of Health Sciences Lahore are eligible for admission which are that the candidate in question must have passed F.Sc or its equivalent with at least 50% marks, the candidate must clear the admission test taken by the University of Health Sciences Lahore.

Post RN BSN
The Post RN-BScN programme is a two-year programme designed to give experienced registered nurses an opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge and skills needed to practice nursing care as clinically competent professional nurses
Eligibility Criteria of post RN
Students wishing to enroll into this program must meet the requirements set by the university which are to have cleared matriculation (science) by at least 50% marks, a diploma in nursing, and a diploma in midwifery (or any post specialty diploma for males)

Graduate Programs
Masters of Science in Nursing
University of Health Sciences started its Masters in Nursing program in 2008, the first-ever such program in the public sector in Pakistan. The Masters of Science in Nursing program is meant to satisfy the critical need for leaders, advanced clinicians, nursing educators, and researchers in nursing. The program is structured around the major components of theory, research, management and clinical practice.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate willing to apply for Masters of Science in Nursing must meet the following requirements, a SSC (Secondary School Certificate) from the science group or equivalent, an HSSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate) or equivalent, 3 year diploma in case the student had not enrolled for HSSC, four years of BScN degree or two years of Post RN BSN attested by the HEC, valid PNC license, and 2 years of clinical experience including one year of internship.
