Nursing Admissions Fatima Jinnah Medical University Sir Ganga Ram

The Nursing school was started in December 1948. It has the distinction of being the first new school of nursing established in Pakistan after independence. At the time of Nursing School’s inception, the Hospital had only six wards with 129 Beds. During the course of 69 years the Hospital expanded with thirty more wards, a separate Hospital for children and latest emergency department. It was then upgraded to Nursing College on 26 October 2016. Today it is one of the biggest Nursing facilities in Pakistan. It is affiliated with SGRH for practical training purpose. An eminent pioneer of Nursing College was Mrs. Mumtaz Painda Khan, who served as Chief Nursing Superintendent, SGRH, Lahore from January, 1947-September, 1979.Similarly there was expansion in Nursing School. It was then upgraded to Nursing College on 26 October 2016.Bilquis Akhtar is the Principal, College of Nursing & Midwifery, FJMU Lahore. The college building is located in the Premises of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore. It has 5 lecture Halls ,1 demonstration Hall, a Library, a skills lab and a pantry for facilitation of students. Hostel accommodation for students is also available in hospital premises.
