After Metric Nursing

01:- Lady Health Visitor (LHV) Diploma program

The Lady Health Visitor (LHV) Diploma program is of two years. The program is recognized by the Pakistan Nursing Council, Islamabad and it is affiliated with Nursing Examination Board, Punjab. Lady health visitors (LHV), as a specific cadre of health care provider, have existed in Pakistan since 1951. They provide a variety of services to urban and rural communities, including basic nursing care, maternal child health services, and training of community workers.

Handle baby deliveries under supervision of Lady doctor referred. Health education and counselling to woman, maybe the  individually or in groups at clinic and at field level with focus to family planning, danger sign during pregnancy, ANC/PNC , breastfeeding, balance/diet ideas or many more like these.

If we talk about LHV Scale, LHVs are recruited in grade 12 after a two-year course from the Public Health Nursing School.The majority of Community health workers earn a salary between PK 21,714 and PK 170,833 per month in 2023 year. A monthly wage for entry-level Community health workers ranges from PK 21,714 to PK 63,685.

02:- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a (02) Two-years professional education program leading to practice as a Registered Nurse.It is designed to gain knowledge and skills needed to perform as certified nursing assistant and acquire hands-on experience helping patients with daily life activities at primary, secondary and tertiary levels under supervision.

The average pay for a Nursing Assistant Certified is PKR 732,327 a year and PKR 352 an hour in Pakistan. The average salary range for a Nursing Assistant Certified is between PKR 549,977 and PKR 859,019.

If we talk about their work on duties. Although nurses are responsible for administering medications and performing some types of routine medical procedures, CNAs are responsible for providing comfort measures. A goal of providing high quality patient care in these areas is a fundamental objective of the role.Upon Successful completion of this program, the CNA will be a clinical nurse able to provide nursing care at primary, secondary, and tertiary care hospitals. CNA can also work in association with Registered Nurses in private hospitals and community settings.

• Grooming patients by brushing their hair, teeth, shaving them, etc.Feeding patients and documenting their food and liquid intake.Checking vital signs such as blood pressure and heart rate.
• Answering patient calls.
• Turning or moving patients.
• Gathering medical supplies.
• Bathing patients.

03:- Community Midwifery CMW

This is two years’ diploma program, leading to practice as a Registered Midwife(RM). The CMW diploma program has been designed for training rural females as midwives who can provide maternal and newborn care to women and children of their communities. Providing individualized care to the pregnant women throughout the maternity cycle and the newborn, in her own environment and helping her in self-care. Monitoring the physical, social and emotional well being of the pregnant woman as needed.

As the traditional role of birth attendant, a community midwife also functions in a variety of other roles related to women. midwifes perform routine women’s health checkups, they educate women on prenatal health and nutrition, they provide birth education classes and assist women with breastfeeding and infant care.

If we talk about the salary of Community Midwifed ,Average salary of CMW in Pakistan is about 30000 rupees monthly. Community midwives can get jobs in maternity homes, NGO, private clinics or where they want.
