Nursing helps individuals, families and groups to determine and achieve their physical, mental and social problems (potential) and to do so with in challenging center of the environment in which they live an work. The nurse requires competence to develop and perform functions that promote maintain health.
Nursing School was established in 1962, and classes of General Nursing / Midwifery are being run by the Nursing School with excellent performance. 171 seats for female students are sanctioned in two categories in General Nursing and Midwifery. The Principal runs the school with the qulified and competent instructors as well as specialist professors of different diseases. The students get four years training and hundreds of students are being trained every year. In addition to that, a class of dispenser student also exist working in the Hospital, which is entirely run by the hospital administration.

Admission Criteria
- F. Sc. (Pre-Medical) 50% marks in the aggregate with matric in Science subjects with 55 % marks in
aggregate. - If a candidate has that percentage in the examination, the he/she will be eligible for admission. For F.
Sc. students, 50% marks shall be calculated in all subjects while if Matric, only percentage shall be
calculated for science subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
(Note: Additional 20 marks for Hafiz e Quran only) - Married Applicants will only be considered if no un-married candidates are found eligible and such
candidate have to provide ab affidavit that her family life will not effect her studies and training during the
course and she will not refuse any assignment related with her training on this basis.
Maximum age limit will be 25 years, one merit list of all candidates, including widow & divorced, in
respective categories will be prepared.
Admission Policy
The Govt of the Punjab Health Department has approved the following policy / criteria for the admission
of General Nursing Training Course.
Open merit on all Punjab basis:(Candidates from the concerned district will also be eligible to compete).
Close merit for the district:(Selection will be made from the merit list of the candidates domiciled in the district. If the eligible candidates are available from within the district concerned, selection should be made on open merit basis from all Punjab).
LHV / Midwives: (Preference will be given to the employees of the Health Department).
Departmental Qouta: (Children of the Health department employees).
