GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF NURSING ADMISSIONS OPEN IN KPK

Capacity building of the provincial health department in service delivery and governance of the health sector were the mainstay of the health sector reforms agenda in the 90’s. To sustain the capacity building initiative, Provincial Health Development Centre (PHDC) was raised to the status of first ever Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA) in Pakistan.The public sector health professional teaching and training institutions meant for paramedics, nurses and LHVs along with District Health Development Centers were attached to PHSA as its allied institutions. Later on in 1999, PHSA was given the status of an attached department of HealthThe Academy is open for both Public and Private Sector candidates.

1. Its short and long Courses give particular advantage of interaction and networking with Government sector particularly Health and also P&D, Finance, Rest of the Provincial as well as Federal Government.
2. It is the only Institution for public sector promotion & Induction courses.

Eligibility Criteria for BS Nursing

1. Qualification:FSc (premedical) with at least 50% marks or its equivalent in the Cambridge system.
2. A candidate eligible to apply for admission in BS Nursing degree program will fulfill all the following criteria:
3. Nationality/Domicile:The applicant must be a citizen of Pakistan, domiciled at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including newly merged districts;
4. Gender Ratio:Admissions will be granted to females and males with a ratio of 90:10 which shall also be maintained in each Nursing college.
5. Age Limit: A candidate must not be over 35 years of age, to be reckoned from the closing date of submission of application.
6. Mandatory Test:KMU (CAT) Test 2022 result.
7. The KMU(CAT) Test 2022 will be an objective type test based on FSc. (pre-medical) or equivalent qualification.

• Applicants must have done F.Sc with a minimum of 50% marks along with 55% marks in Physics, chemistry & biology in matriculation.
• Age should be 25 years and not over 25 on the last date of form submission.

5. Lecture Halls Three full furnished Lecture Halls with Audio/Visual and air conditioning facilities.
6. Hostel The hostel consists of 25 fully furnished rooms having Wi-Fi and air conditioning facility with attached bath. It has a common room that provides Dish T.V with more than 50 channels, air conditioning, News Papers facility) and a dining hall.
7. Reading Room:Reading Room is established at Hostel with English, Urdu News Papers and latest Magazine.
8. Library, IRC / Computer Lab and Knowledge Management & Sharing Unit (KMSU).
9. Library: Library collection consist of 4,000 books and journals mainly on subject area related to Public Health, Management, Information Technology, Economics, Health Policy,Nursing, Urdu, English and reference materials.
10. Transport: Three air conditioned coaches each having 15 seats capacity are available for picks and drop facility of trainees with an additional vehicle for picks and drop facility of trainer/resource person as well.
