General Nursing

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or General Nursing Program is a 4-years degree program offered at AGCON. This program also includes 1 year of practicing and 4 years of education. After this program you will be a registered nurse (RN) certified and licensed by Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC). Now we will discuss all details about this program like fee structure, eligibility criteria and admission process.

Eligibility Criteria

Basic requirement for the degree program is Matriculation and FS.c. The candidate who is considered to be eligible for this program must have done matric with biology as his majors and FS.c with physics, chemistry, biology. These subjects are must require for this degree program. Along with these subjects’ candidate must have al least 50% marks in FS.c in order to be eligible for this degree.

LHV

LHV or Lady Health Visitor provides medical and health care for maternal child and also provides training for community workers. This is 2-years degree program and after that you will be able to earn a living for yourself. This program is only for female candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

As mentioned above and also the name says its only for female candidates. Male candidates can skip to the next degree program. Educational requirement is only Matriculation for the degree program but it can be done also after FS.c. Basic eligibility criteria is matriculation with the biology, chemistry and physics as majors (compulsory Subjects). Female candite must have at least 45% marks in matric. The final criteria for eligibility is age limit which must not be more than 30 years.

Midwifery Diploma

Midwifery is considered as a sub-field of health care professionals. They provide services of health care and guidance for pregnant mothers or new mothers with their infants. Certified midwifery-nurses also provide guidance and counselling along with the support in the initial steps of raising a child. Midwiferies usually work in a public or private hospitals or birth centers. But some of them also work in houses for the taking care of infant child and helping their mother.

Eligibility Criteria

This 1-year diploma is also for only female candidates. Basic educational requirement for this program is also the same as LHV (Lady Health Visitors). Eligibility criteria for female candidate is minimum 45% marks in Matriculation with physics, Biology and chemistry as compulsory subjects. Age limit is also the same as LHV which is 30 years.

ICU/CCU Diploma

CCU or Critical Care Nursing more advanced than midwifery diploma in term of knowledge, skill and evaluation. This job requires good evaluation skills in critical and complex needs. This course provides the nurse with advance knowledge and assessment skill and also provide a good opportunity to enhance these skills by taking care of patients that are critically ill.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational requirement is only Matriculation for the degree program but it can be done also after FS.c. It is recommended to do this diploma after FS.c as it provides more opportunities for FS.s Students. Basic eligibility criteria is matriculation with the biology, chemistry and physics as majors (compulsory Subjects). Minimum 50% marks in matric is required in matric to be eligible for this diploma.

Pediatric Nutrition Diploma

Pediatric Nurses are usually RN (Registered Nurses) who decides to peruse their career in the particular genre. These nurses work in Hospital’s pediatric department with babies, toddlers, tweens, and teens.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for the candidates is Matriculation and FS.c with al least 50% marks. Candidate must have studied biology, chemistry, physics as compulsory subjects in FS.c. Usually the candidates who do this diploma are RN (registered Nurses). So, eligibility criteria is not much of a issue for those students in this diploma.

Admission Process

Now it’s time to discuss the general admission process to apply for all degree and diploma programs at the AGCON (Aligarh College of Nursing and Allied Science). Admission process is divided into 3-parts.

• Submission of Application Form
• Entry Test
• Interview

Submission of Application Form

The first step and the basic step of the admission process admission is the submission of the application form. Applicants have to get a prospectus and admission form through College Admin Block. The candidate must fill the admission form properly and then submit it to the college along with all supporting documents. All the required documents that are mentioned on the admission form must be attested.

Entry Test

After the successful submission of the application form, the college will organize the entry test. Which is the second step of our admission process. It is mandatory to attempt entry tests for all applicants. Usually, the entry test consists of the academic syllabus and IQ.

Interview

The final step is the interview which is usually for the candidates who are already RN (Registered Nurses) and wanted to pursue their career in a particular genre by doing a diploma. For FS.c students’ interview is not much big of a issue. Even in some cases interview is not taken of the candidates. But interview is must for the candidates who have also applied for the scholarship or financial aid.
